The Fallacy of Choice vs Hard Wiring

As I began to think about the immense question we were asked today I realized that there is nothing worth arguing over in the debate at all. IF we assume for a moment it is a choice, which I do not believe, then we are disallowing people to be with others they truly love because we feel it is a choice, and not a good choice. Good or bad, who are we as a society to judge that choice, and furthermore if we loved something we would want our love unabated.

Considering then that It is hard wired, they're us no argument humanly possible for why we as a society condemn such acts. Today in class I stated it mattered in politics and was important, however, I feel now in retrospect that this is false. No politician should have the right to say that someone cannot love who they love, and that we as a nation have allowed our lawmakers that kind of authority is distressing. Do we believe truly that the government has our best interests in mind in these matters? Or are they focused more on the "deviancy" and the American global image? Food for thought.
